About Ron Gaydos …

Working in grant writing and social impact initiatives development, Ron has extensive experience in education, community development, project finance, and technology based economic development. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University, he has had leadership as well as collaborative roles in several high profile initiatives and projects.

His participation in initiatives ranging from finding new uses for former industrial sites with a regional agency, to the West Virginia Advanced Materials Development Blueprint and the economic impact analysis of the Human Genome Project for an international consulting practice, gives him a global perspective on involving the people affected by change in articulating and planning their futures.

Ron’s regional development work ranges from leading the planning for several of the Mon Valley’s abandoned steel mills and a Mon-Valley-Wide Economic Development Strategy, which was incorporated into Allegheny County’s Comprehensive Plan, to construction of public housing integrating market-rate and affordable housing with commercial uses.

Ron developed and directed the Pittsburgh region’s first green jobs training program called “Mon Valley Environmental and Innovative Training”, known as MOVE IT, which provided 240 people opportunities in environmental technician certification, supportive services, and supervised employment. He wrote the grant proposals to make this happen.

As the collaborative potential of social media became evident he initiated a community organizing program using available new media to enhance community organizing in the Mon Valley. The “Community 2.0” program included the Gigapan panoramic photo platform for community storytelling for younger and older community members.

Sometimes facing resistance for strongly advocating sustainability and inclusion in all development efforts, his insistence and guidance benefits everyone involved.

When he’s got time, Ron plays some jazz, classical, and blues on the piano, bikes around town, and gets the sailing skiff he built, the “Rainbow Trout”, out on the water.

About Eva Hui …

As a graduate teaching assistant of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education, Eva imparted instructional design and technology expertise to hundreds of the region’s teachers. As Chair of the Computer Department at an area independent school, she developed programs and curricula for integrating computer programming and web design into courses throughout the school.

Eva has been active in regional intercultural programs aimed at reducing prejudice and increasing understanding among races and cultures, and has organized several multicultural festivals.

Harkening back to her upbringing in Hong Kong, Eva enjoys her membership in the Steel Dragon Lion Dance troupe. And she’ll amaze you with what she can make by folding up one, two, or 22 sheets of origami paper!

We also maintain friendly and productive relationships with many others who can add unique experience and talent to our capacity.
